Meet the Blonde behind the camera

Corporate Blonde

Burnt Out Blonde

Wellness Blonde

Hi I’m Katharine!

Like many ambitious Capricorns, I thought I had my whole life planned out: get a high-paying corporate job, get married, buy a nice home, and travel in between. I completed five corporate internships before I graduated from college (btw I majored in Finance and minored in Psychology). I even had a 8 month gap between college and my first full-time job so I traveled and created content for my YouTube channel. At the age of 23, I married my high-school sweetheart. At the age of 24, I climbed my way up to Senior Internal Auditor for an Investment Bank, earning six-figures. The only thing left to do is buy a nice house.

However, I was becoming increasingly burnt out and felt like something wasn’t fundamentally right (btw I made a video about this). In order to rule out the Northeast weather being the primary contributor, I transferred from the Bank’s Headquarters in New York to their campus in Florida. A few months after moving to the Sunshine State, I had an overwhelming feeling that I was living someone else’s life.

To jump off the moving train and gain my footing, I took a week off and flew to a luxury wellness resort in Carefree, Arizona - about 30 minutes from Phoenix. (Taking a moment to give a thank you to the instructors and staff at Civana Wellness Resort & Spa for their hospitality.) I never went to a resort like this before - where I practiced yoga and meditation, immersed myself in sound baths, walked in an outdoor labyrinth, hiked in the Sonoran Desert, biked to the local town, pet horses, learned about my human design chart, wanted to leave my phone in the room, etc. For the first time ever I left a vacation feeling my internal battery was recharged and my whole essence was elevated.

I used to think that all-inclusive beach resort vacations were relaxing; which they are but its surface level. Once I would came back home, I’d go back to my old routines. Upon reflecting on my Phoenix wellness vacation as I was flying home, I felt like I fundamentally changed. I realized that I wanted to live a more intentional, wellness-centered lifestyle where I prioritized self-care. I embarked on my wellness journey focusing on my emotional, spiritual, and physical wellbeing. After taking a few months to work on myself, I decided to take a leap of faith and step away from my cushy corporate career to pursue a life of fulfillment. This led me to discovering love for myself and I had the courage to leave the relationship that was no longer aligned with me. I did the inner work and my outer world changed. I found the fire that was missing for years within me and used it to build what Blonde In The Air is today.

Now I show young professionals how they can incorporate wellness into their lives through traveling and hotels how they can transform into a unique wellness destination. I share my story to inspire you to take the first step!
